Junior Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a Junior Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team in the plant hire industry. The ideal candidate will focus on ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and availability of our fleet, which primarily consists of Caterpillar (CAT) equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, data analysis, and continuous improvement to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, reliability engineering, or a similar role (experience with CAT machines preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and data analysis tools.
- Good understanding of condition monitoring techniques and predictive maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the mining or plant hire industry.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in field environments and travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze the performance of CAT machinery to improve equipment reliability.
- Conduct equipment over-inspection and audit equipment records.
- Implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
- Conduct failure analysis and recommend corrective actions to reduce equipment downtime.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to develop and enhance maintenance strategies.
- Utilize reliability engineering principles and tools (such as RCM and FMEA) to optimize fleet performance.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on equipment performance and maintenance history.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Support procurement in selecting and evaluating spare parts and maintenance contracts.
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams to enhance equipment efficiency.
