Safety Officer (1 Positions) -
Lephalale, Limpopo, South Africa

As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for all administrative tasks and matters related to the SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) department. This includes managing Site Safety Files, online safety compliance platforms, and onboarding/offboarding company procedures to ensure compliance at all times.
Desired Experience
- Computer literacy
- Strong communication skills (written, reading, verbal)
- 5 years’ mining experience
- Experience in incident investigation and first aid is advantageous.
Qualification
- Matric or Grade 12
- National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Safety Management/ Environmental Health Or Studying towards this qualification will be advantageous
- Comsoc 1 and 2, Or Samtrac Qualification
- Preference given to applicants residing around the Lephalale area
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the investigation and reporting of accidents or incidents within working areas.
- Conduct and update Risk Assessments as per company policies and procedures.
- Review Incident Action Plans for safety implications and ensure legal compliance.
- Assist in documenting hazard analysis processes, identification, exposure assessment, and controls during initial responses.
- Coordinate the activities of Safety Representatives and assist in implementing SHEQ programs.
- Review and approve Emergency and Waste Management plans and procedures.
- Participate in planning meetings to identify health and safety concerns in daily work plans.
- Perform all administrative duties related to the SHEQ management system.
- Handle administrative queries and promote integrated efforts within the Business Unit.
- Ensure compliance with BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) procedures and protocols.
- Schedule meetings, take minutes, and perform secretarial duties
